Zwei Brüder, ein Traum
It all started when two of them got to know each other while working in an Indian restaurant in Berlin. Fate had brought both of them from Delhi to Berlin — and what they discovered, day by day, was a quiet brotherhood. They even moved together under one roof.
One night, tired in body and mind, they spoke of everything they had been carrying. The conversation was long but interesting, sad but important, funny but witty and direct. They were very different — but together, they could make a team. Together, they could make a difference.
They decided to do something meaningful. Something that defined their personality, their culture, their vision — something that brought a piece of Delhi to Berlin.
Chandni Chowk, entworfen von einer Prinzessin
Im 17. Jahrhundert wurde der Platz Chandni Chowk — oder Delhi 6 — von Prinzessin Jahanara entworfen, der Lieblingstochter des Mogulkaisers Shah Jahan. Heute ist er einer der ältesten und größten Großmärkte Indiens, voller Leben und allem, was man sich vorstellen kann.
Hier in der Friedrichstraße 237 wird dieser Traum in Berlin wieder wahr. Wir nennen ihn Delhi 6, denn 6 ist die Postleitzahl von Chandni Chowk.
Gebaut mit Erspartem, Liebe und Familie
They quit their secure jobs, pooled all their savings and borrowed from family and friends. There was no going back.
One brother flew to Delhi to bring back Chandni Chowk's interiors — its furniture, lamps, dishes, spices, recipes and materials — so the soul of the market could live in Berlin.
The other built the menu and the floor — designing the most welcoming, interactive service possible, with food that would make every guest happy from the very first bite.
